Help with WinZip, zipped and rar files?

I have over 600 zipped files that need to be extracted and 10 rar files. I most likely will be having more… So how does WinZip work and which would be the best to use? Are there any free that work? I tried 7Zip but nothing seemed to happen. Thanks for the help!

I have Windows Vista and I can open zip files without any software. Right click on the zip file and left click on extract. I use 7zip. Think it is probably the easiest thing on my computer to use. Right click on the rar file and cursor on open with. Left click 7zip. In the box that comes up select the rar file you want to open and click extract and the top. It will do the rest assuming a password is not required. Hope this helps. Good Luck.
