How can I get free books on my kindle?

I have been to amazon.com, but there is no “free book” section that I can find. I know a lot of the classics are free, but why aren’t they all in one place? Can someone help me with this?

Also, just to get my library started, what are some of your favorites (free & not free) books on kindle?

Hey just wanted to make it clear that I’m not trying to steal books! =] I know that amazon really does have free books, I was just trying to get them all in one place! Thank you for all the answers!
