What’s a good anti-virus program?

I have Norton, but when my subscription runs out I want to buy something else. I have sooo many problems with it. The LiveUpdate never wants to work. I have to keep fixing files and redownloading stuff. I don’t want McAfee either. I had a virus that it didn’t catch, same with Norton.

I really like TrendHouse and I do their free scans online when I think I have a virus and Norton isn’t picking it up. Can you buy that in stores?

The September issue of Consumer Reports put Trend Micro AntiVirus plus AntiSpyware at the top of their list. They are part of the PC-cillin Internet Security 2007 suite of programs, also at the top of the suite list. I would recommend getting the whole suite – the list price is $50. Symantec’s Norton stuff is toward the bottom of the list, by the way. Another one to consider is the CheckPoint ZoneAlarm Security Suite also at $50 – it was second in both the suite and anti-virus lists. I have McAfee’s Internet Security Suite 2007 and am quite happy with it – it was fourth in the list, but it’s pricier at $70.
