free web layouts css

CSS Web Layout why wont it work?

All I did was got several free CSS web layouts and I copied and pasted the codes into my file magnager. I have tryed sevral codes and nothing works! look at the site to see how it shows up.

I dont get this because html works fine!

Please help me all I want to make is a simple website with 2 collums one for links the other for content.

lol it is certain that you don’t know well about css. CSS (cascade style sheet) gives design to your web page, it doesnot work without HTML. in your page you have just showed ur css file
use it like this
on your index.htm

on above you see a place to insert your css and then you see the place to use it.
you can use your styles by the class attribute on your tag or id(prefered for layers).
if you need to know more about css. go get a tutorial at
http://www.w3schools.com or search for other tuorials.
