free legal advice phone number
I’m looking for free legal advice?

Does anyone know of a phone number that I can call, to get some legal advice free of charge? I need to find out what my rights are pertaining to a question that I asked earlier. Thank you in advance.

Well I’ve already called several lawyers around me, and seeing how I am about 60 miles from any sort of actual city, there isn’t much free aid, nor is there a law school within 120 miles at least.

Contact the state bar association someone there should be able to point you in the direction of some inexpensive resources. If you are near a law school you may also consider calling them. Many have clinics. My impression of this situation as you have expressed it is that the propane company will let it go as soon as they see that you are prepared to play hard ball. Good luck.

Update-
You might try asking one of the clerks at the courthouse if they know of any lawyers who do a lot of bro bono work. You never know they might point you to someone. If you want to sue on your own you should go in and ask them about the paperwork you would need to file anyway so it probably wouldn’t be a wasted trip even if you don’t get any leads.

You might also consider bringing this up with your real estate agent. I don’t know if you had an attorney in the closing or what the protocols are in Michigan but in many states monies are held in escrow for such expenses. This sort of thing could be considered an issue with offering marketable title. Just another thought.

I thought the law school option would be a stretch because you were on propane and generally speaking it means you are a little off the beaten trail but just thought I would throw it out there.
